Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Release Date, Price, Specs, And More

As 2024 draws to a close, it won’t be long until Samsung releases information about its next foldable lineup. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 clamshell should be among them. The next generation of foldable smartphones should be released sometime this summer, according to the reports that are starting to circulate.

But what precisely is Samsung planning with the Galaxy Z Fold 6? Here is all we know about the suspected costs, specifications, design, and other details.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Release date

The next generation of Samsung foldables should be released sometime in the summer, based on the release history of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. SamMobile reports that the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will take place in early July of 2024. The second week of the month seems to be the most likely time for an announcement, and as Galaxy Unpacked events usually take place on Wednesdays, July 10 seems like a good choice.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Price

Foldables are usually priced in the $1,800 area, thus they have never been very cheap. For example, the base model of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 (12GB/256GB) costs $1,800, and the price increases from there. The 1TB edition costs an astounding $2,160, while the 512GB variant costs $1,920.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Design

Yogesh Brar has leaked more information, suggesting that the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s cover display maybe 6.4 inches. The Z Fold 6 might have an aspect ratio of 20:9 instead of 23.1:9, which is a touch broader than the Z Fold 5’s existing 6.2-inch cover display.

The interior display is likewise impacted if the cover display is somewhat bigger. The internal display of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has an aspect ratio of 5:6, whereas the Galaxy Z Fold 6 may have a more square-like 1.08:1 aspect ratio.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Specs

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 series also uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Since the S24 series already uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip will most likely receive the same yearly processor upgrade. Based on the specifications of its predecessor, we should receive up to 1TB of storage and at least 12GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Cameras

Though it seems that the Z Fold 6 will feature a 50MP primary lens like the standard S24, there have been reports of a 200MP main camera. With a 50MP primary camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide camera, the camera configuration would resemble that of the Z Fold 5.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Software and Updates

Samsung guarantees seven years of Android upgrades for its phones, beginning with the S24 series. This implies that there’s a strong likelihood the Z Fold 6 can be updated to Android 21 if it comes pre-installed with Android 14. Naturally, the durability levels aren’t the same as those of a slab phone like the S24 series because this is foldable. Long-term software support is still probably a good bet.
