The headset was revealed in June 2023, after years of rumours.

The Apple Watch was launched in 2015, and this is the first major product that the company has released since then.

US customers can pre-order this $3,499 (PS2,749) device starting in mid-January. However, no date has yet been announced for the UK launch.

Apple announced that its long-awaited Vision Pro headphones will be available in the United States on February 2, 2019.

According to the Financial Times Apple’s production forecasts have been halved, from an estimated 1 million units in 2024 to 400,000.

In a blog aimed at developers, it stated: “Don’t call your app experience augmented reality (AR), VR, extended reality (XR), and mixed reality (MR).” The company is also telling app developers to brand their applications as “spatial computation” instead of using the name headset.

New Vision Pro Trailer

Apple also released an online trailer featuring film characters wearing helmets and goggles. As the competitors like Xreal and Rokid are making waves Apple is trying to create a buzz around Vision Pro once again.

Apple announced that it will release the device on September 29th. It also confirmed the device’s 256GB storage capacity and clarified the eye-tracking feature of the headset can be used to monitor only one dominant eye for those who don’t have the full use of their two eyes.

What do we know about the Apple Vision Pro headset?

Apple’s user interface is minimalist and classic. When the headset is turned on, you see images not through glass but through the on-board cameras.

The physical dial allows you to adjust the size of what you are viewing. You can choose to have it fill your entire room, or superimpose a TV on the wall.

No matter how much you are immersed, you will still be able to see someone walking in front of your face.

Apple headsets are lighter because the battery is not attached. However, it means the battery must be placed next to you, connected to a cable.

The “mixed reality” experience is digital content projected onto your surroundings.

Press the button at the top of the right-hand side and you will see familiar icons that you are already familiar with if you own an iPhone – iMessage, Photos, Apple TV, etc. (there will be others as developers create them).

From then on, gesture control is the way to go – when you pinch your thumb and index finger together and look at an application, it will open.

iPhone 16: Design, Price, Release Date, And More Details

Apple is expected to release their next-generation iPhone 16 models sometime in 2024, featuring faster chips, larger sizes, improved cameras and possibly even a new button. They may feature A-series processors designed using their N3E node of 3-nanometer technology, which may offer some performance and efficiency gains; details remain to be determined at this time.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 could feature different chips; higher-end chips would likely only be limited to Pro models. We expect some significant upgrades compared to iPhone 15. Here are all the major rumors and reports.

iPhone 16: Release Date

As is typically the case, Apple will unveil and release their iPhone 16 line sometime during fall 2024, though we could see any number of delays and surprises occurring between now and then. Current estimates put their release in September.

iPhone 16: Price

Apple was able to absorb increased production costs with iPhone 15, as component prices for it were the highest in 2024; thus indicating we may see an increase in all models of iPhone 16 in terms of pricing; though exactly how much could change remains unknown.

iPhone 16: Design

MacRumors reports that the design most likely for use on the iPhone 16 will feature a capacitive action button, mechanical volume controls and a new “Capture button.” Both the 16 Plus and iPhone 16 should remain similar in size to their previous iterations, but Pro models may grow larger; reports state the iPhone 16 Pro display may increase from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches while 6 Pro Max displays should grow even larger from 6.7-9 inches.

Apple is reported to use micro-lending technology in their OLED displays on iPhone 16. This could result in improved brightness and energy efficiency; MacRumors reported that its new Capture button may mimic that of high-end cameras.

iPhone 16: Specifications

Apple will likely adopt a less expensive process to produce standard A17 chips for use in its iPhone 16 models, while the Qualcomm Snapdragon modem will provide faster 5G connectivity on the Pro model. As for base model devices, they could utilize Qualcomm chips similar to what exists currently in iPhone 15 for their processor and may feature Wi-Fi 7 technology that offers speeds of up to 40Gb/s.

iPhone 16: Updates and Software

Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference, an event held every summer that showcases new software releases, will coincide with the iPhone 16 line’s introduction. We can therefore expect iOS 18 to arrive alongside this model later that Fall – featuring AI-powered features like enhanced Siri interactions, Apple Music playlist generation and integration with productivity apps.

iPhone 16: Battery Life

Rumor has it that the iPhone 16 Pro may boast improved battery life as the technology used to stack batteries will likely be implemented, potentially providing higher capacities and longer lifespans with this method. Furthermore, 20W MagSafe charging rates could also improve substantially due to this change.

iPhone 16: Cameras

Apple could soon upgrade the camera on their iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pro models, featuring an ultrawide 48MP camera, to replace its 12MP current version on iPhone 15 Pro models. Such an upgrade would deliver higher-detail images even in low light situations.

TikTok could be banned – What a US ban would mean and how would it work

Almost precisely a year has passed since the last serious threat of a US TikTok ban. This time, a House of Representatives committee unanimously approved a bill to outlaw the widely used social networking app on US soil. With backing from both parties, the measure has a good chance of passing the House, moving on to the Senate, and landing on President Joe Biden’s desk in a matter of weeks.

A complete US ban now appears quite likely. The meaning, mechanism, and consequences of this are much the same as they were when we first reported this story a year ago.

TikTok has been the center of a political maelstrom for the past year, resulting in its prohibition from government devices in the US, the EU, and now the UK. However, the millions of users of the app are concerned about the very real possibility of an outright ban on TikTok in the US.

For a number of years, TikTok and its parent business, which is domiciled in China, have been the subject of an investigation by the US government, including the current Biden administration.

In response to claims that it gathers and keeps user data from Americans, the app has made a number of adjustments, including transferring all of its US data to Oracle’s servers. However, this hasn’t allayed American worries that the software may endanger national security. Shou Zi Chew, the CEO of TikTok, testified before Congress last year to defend the app.

What does all of this mean for the 150 million US users of TikTok among its hundreds of millions of global users? Everything you need to know about the possibility of a US ban on TikTok is provided here.

WHY MAYBE THE TIKTOK BAN IS HAPPENING?

The primary charge motivating the proposed US ban on TikTok is that the software endangers national security. But hold on, aren’t the majority of TikTok videos just pointless TV show snippets and video game walkthroughs?

Yes, but the real issue isn’t so much the content as it is what TikTok may be purportedly doing with the underlying information it collects about you, including your location and the people you connect with in addition to your likes and comments.

FBI Director Christopher Wray, for instance, voiced “extreme” alarm in February about China’s ability to “weaponize” data collected from TikTok’s US-based admirers.

This is because ByteDance, a Chinese corporation that owns TikTok, is legally permitted by Chinese law to compel any business to turn over any data that is stored on its servers.

What Personal Information Does TikTok Collect?

  • Text, photos, and videos on your clipboard; your name, age; username; email; password; phone number; location; and the content of messages, as well as when and by whom they are sent, received, and read.
  • Your IP address, cell provider, time zone preferences, device type, and operating system details regarding pictures, sounds, and videos objects and scenery that show up in your films, such as landmarks, stores, or other interesting locations; biometric identifiers, including voiceprints and facial prints (this information helps TikTok tailor political messages, videos, and advertisements depending on your habits and interests).
  • Cookies that gather, quantify, and examine the most popular pages that users visit as well as their interactions with content.

WHAT IF A TIKTOK BANNED?

Although President Biden subsequently overturned this restriction last year, a federal judge’s decision to prohibit it initially gave us a preview of what can occur if TikTok’s owners continue to hold onto their ownership of the app.

Future upgrades will not be available to US consumers if they are unable to download TikTok through the iOS or Android app stores. And eventually, this would probably cause the app to stop functioning on their cellphones.

The US government could also be able to block access to TikTok by figuring out your IP address and blocking access to the app’s online version. Though there could be workarounds, it’s unclear if that’s in the cards at this point.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET OVER A POSSIBLE TIKTOK BANNING?

Although TikTok’s removal from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store would be a significant obstacle to the app’s use in the US, there could be possible solutions.

Changing your location (as far as your ISP is concerned) with one of the best mobile VPNs is the most obvious way to do it. The approach may be effective even if it would need a monthly fee if you select a server located in a nation where TikTok isn’t prohibited.
